Oak Class

Welcome to Oak Class. We are currently made up of wonderful children in Year Three and Year Four. In Class, Miss White is our current Class Teacher and we are joined by project sport on a Monday afternoon and Mr Knaggs on a Tuesday Morning!

Please remember, if you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to ask. Feel free to catch us on the door, e-mail via the school office or arrange a telephone call. We are always more than happy to help!

Learning

Within Oak Class we enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum and learn through a wide range of different exciting activities. We are encouraged to develop resilience and to become independent learners.  To see the topics we will be learning this term please see our Summer newsletter below.

Spellings are taught and set every Monday and the children are tested the following Monday. Spellings can be accessed through Ed shed, where children are expected to complete a minimum of 5 games per week. If children prefer to complete their spellings by hand, a homework sheet is also send out weekly.

In addition to this, children are also asked to practise their times tables weekly through times tables rockstars. Children are also asked to read little and often, either independently or with an adult. This can then be added to their reading records!

Finally, if children wish to complete extra homework, they can optionally complete their project homework. This can be found at the bottom of the curriculum news letter. Project homework is designed to expand children knowledge of the foundation subjects and link their learning further.
